Part P - Defined Course
Course Overview
Recent changes to Part P of the Building Regulations now mean that it is illegal for an unqualified installer to carry out certain types of electrical work in domestic dwellings. This course allows you to become qualified and join a competent persons
Who is it for?
This course has been designed for those such as plumbers and central heating or kitchen installers - who may want to carry out limited scope electrical work as part of their own overall business in domestic premises. The candidate must be able to take and pass a colour discrimination test.
Entry Requirements
We recommend that candidates have some previous basic electrical experience before undertaking this course. The safety of both the installer and the customer is of utmost importance. This course is designed to ensure that simple and safe installation practices are established from the start and that they are followed throughout the duration.

5 days including training and assessment
£643 + VAT @ 17.5% = £755.52
Outcomes
Upon completion of this course you will be able to undertake electrical work which is associated with your main source of income, e.g. if you are a kitchen fitter you can do electrics necessary for you to install a kitchen. You should also be able to join a competent person's scheme which will allow you to sign off your own work.
Other Information
After successful completion of the defined scope course, you can then upgrade to the additional, 1 - 2 day course 'Part P - Full Scope'. Also available is the 17th Edition wiring regulations.
